In a breathtaking display of devotion and craftsmanship, Vummidi Bangaru Jewellers (VBJ) has transformed the timeless ‘Sriramcharithmanas’ epic into a masterpiece of pure gold. Composed by the revered poet-saint Goswami Tulsidas, this sacred text now gleams with unparalleled brilliance, its spiritual power amplified by its precious form.

Masterful Craftsmanship

Weighing a majestic 147 kilogram, the golden ‘Sriramcharithmanas’ features 524 meticulously crafted pages. Each 1mm thick sheet bears the intricate verses of the poem, etched with exceptional precision. The opulent creation process spanned 8 months, incorporating intricate CorelDraw 2D designs, page sampling, and the expertise of skilled artisans who carefully etched each unique character. Almost 700 grams of gold was used for plating the pages, highlighting VBJ’s commitment to quality and detail.

Artistic Excellence

To further embellish this treasure, vibrant illustrations are brought to life through UV printing technology. The cover depicts the sacred scene of Ramapattabhishekam while Lord Hanuman graces the opening of the Sundara Kaanda chapter. Select pages, including those depicting RamCharan with SitaCharan and the Ayodhya Temple, highlight the delicate interplay of gold and silver, a testament to VBJ’s technical mastery. Even the book’s stand, designed to hold its significant weight within the Ayodhya Temple, reflects meticulous craftsmanship.

Symbol of Heritage

The golden ‘Sriramcharithmanas’ is more than a work of art. It’s a tangible symbol of India’s rich heritage and the timeless wisdom of Tulsidas. This project embodies VBJ’s profound respect for tradition and commitment to preserving it through the highest levels of artistic excellence.

A Legacy in Gold

The ‘Sriramcharithmanas’ is divided into six ‘Kaandas’ (chapters): Bala Kanda, Ayodhya Kanda, Aranya Kanda, Kishkindha Kanda, Sundara Kanda, and Uttara Kanda. Each section offers profound teachings on morality, spirituality, and the path to self-realisation. By rendering this epic in gold, VBJ honours its profound impact and ensures its message of heritage, spiritual wisdom, and enduring legacy will reach generations to come.

Generosity and Dedication

This extraordinary creation was made possible through the generous donation of Smt. Saraswathy, Shri. Lakshminarayanan and their family. It will be housed in the Ayodhya Temple, a fitting home for this symbol of devotion and artistry.

VBJ’s golden ‘Sriramcharithmanas’ demonstrates our dedication to exquisite craftsmanship, preserving cultural heritage, and honouring spiritual wisdom. It will be placed at the Ram Mandir’s sanctum sanctorum on Rama Navami, which falls on April 17, representing the devotion and artistry that define VBJ’s legacy.
